Gwinnett County Police Department responded to a Hit and Run incident on I85 Southbound, near the Hamilton Mill Exit. The suspect vehicle involved left the scene of that accident and continued south on I85 causing a number of collisions and intentionally ramming other vehicles. 2. Arrest made in Albany, Georgia hit and run death
Albany, GA police have arrested 33-year old Terry Roberson. He has been charged him with vehicular homicide in the hit and run auto accident death of 66-year old Roosevelt Coley. Roberson hit Coley and was killed while crossing Oglethorpe at Jefferson Street in January, 2010. Warrants are also out for Antwan Fields for obstruction of justice. Police say he owned one of the second car that hit Coley.
3. Augusta woman hits 3 vehicles
10 traffic charges are facing an Augusta, Georgia woman. Richmond County Deputies say she hit three cars, in two separate accidents on Gordon Highway. Reports indicate 46 year old Barbara Brooker was driving the wrong way down the 1600 block of Gordon Highway. She first sideswiped a taxi. She and another driver were taken to the hospital with non life threatening injuries. When Brooker recovers, deputies will transport her to the Richmond County Jail. 4. Crawfordville Man Arrested For DUI Hit And Run
Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office investigators have arrested a 43-year-old Michael Timothy Lilliman of Crawfordville on a DUI and hit and run Monday, March 29 at 10:47 p.m. According to Sheriff David Harvey he will also face hit-and-run and leaving the scene of an accident charges. Property damage has also been linked to the incident after being spotted on U.S. Highway 98 near the Wildwood Country Club. A short time earlier a traffic accident was reported at Arran Road and U.S. Highway 319. Deputy Ryan Muse responded to the victim, Juliette Rose Rumschlag of Crawfordville.

6. Dublin, Georgia Man Dies in Apparent Hit-and-Run
An apparent hit and run accident in Houston County killed a A Dublin, Georgia man on Thursday August 5, 2010 at night. Coroner Danny Galpin says 25-year-old Kelly Gainey apparently died about 10:15pm Thursday. He was struck near Anchor Glass, near the south end of Robins Air Force Base. Family members are grieving the death of 56-year old Michael Thomas, a Worth County man who was hit by a car and killed. He was hit by a car on Highway 82 in Acree, GA. The driver who hit him kept going, but called 911 to say he thought he hit a deer. 33-year-old Joe Adkins was arrested early Wednesday morning and now faces felony charges for fleeing the scene.

Police searching for a suspect to make an arrest in a hit and run that killed a 56-year-old Louis Cotton. The Tallahassee, Florida man died after being struck in a hit-and-run accident. Two days after Louis Cotton was killed by a hit and run driver, his family is remembering him as one of the kindest men they knew. On Monday, a dozen of his friends gathered outside his sister’s home in Quincy to talk about the man who put others first. “He was a good loving person,” says another sister, Lorene Cotton. “He had a family,” says Yeomans. “He had two sons and six grandchildren.” He also lived at The Shelter in Tallahassee.
9. Forest Park Hit-and-run Caught on Video
Forest Park, Georgia police said they were looking for the driver involved in a hit-and-run auto accident crash that was caught on video by a police officer standing in front of the scene of accident. Video from an officer’s dashboard camera showed a pedestrian crossing the street at the intersection of Jonesboro Road and Conley Road. The camera captured an SUV as it barreled through the intersection and hit the pedestrian. Five months after a Valdosta, Georgia pedestrian was struck by an SUV and killed, 20-year old Travis Biles has been charged in the incident. He surrendered and is accused in the death of a Moody Air Force Base airman. 25-year old David Horney. Horney was struck while walking along the North Oak Street Extension early on the morning of January 16th, 2010 when he was hit by a Ford Expedition. Biles is charged with vehicular homicide, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to report an accident, and a misdemeanor marijuana charge.
11. Effingham County Hit and run suspect turns himself in
A hit and run auto accident suspect,Tony Tripoldi, 35, of Springfield, Georgia was charged with two counts of failure to notify owner after striking two unattended vehicles. Shortly after midnight on June 19, 2010 deputies responded to the Chevron gas station on Highway 21 at Highway 275 on a report of a hit and run. Store surveillance shows Tripoldi making a purchase, got into his vehicle, and struke two parked cars before fleeing the scene.
12. Hit and Run Victim Dies After Being Struck Last Month
A man who was struck by a hit and run driver while riding his bicycle on Skipperton Road last month has died, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office. Now, deputies say the man who hit him faces homicide charges. The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office says 37-year-old Myrtis Green was charged with serious injury by vehicle in May when his car hit 26-year-old Elbert Banks III while Banks was riding his bike on Skipperton Road. Smyrna, Georgia police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the car that hit and seriously injured Alex Langford, 17. Debris analyzed at the hit-and-run auto accident scene has provided the police enough information to release the approximate year, make and model of the suspect vehicle. Officer Michael Smith said, Officers have determined that the suspect vehicle is a 2001 or 2002 white Chevrolet Camaro. Debris and parts found at the scene indicate the collision caused substantial damage on the driver’s side of the vehicle, from the front end down to the driver’s side door.
14. Hit-and-run kills Colquitt County man in Sylvester
Sylvester, Georgia: A Colquitt County man died in an early morning hit-and-run accident in Sylvester. Jordan Taylor Hicks, 26, was killed by a motorist who later abandoned the vehicle, Worth County, Georgia Coroner John Johnson said. The accident occurred at about 3 a.m. on Georgia Highway 33 South. The fatality was the second in as many weeks in the city. “As far as I know he (Hicks) was with a group; he had to get out to urinate,” Johnson said. “He thought he was off the highway a little farther than he was. When he was walking to the back of the car that other car came by and clipped him.” The car that struck Hicks, a new Dodge Magnum that had been purchased recently in Thomasville, was found abandoned a few miles outside Sylvester on the same roadway. 15. Hit-run suspect faced similar charges in 1997
A man now charged in a hit-and-run accident that killed a 4-year-old Marietta, Georgia boy Saturday night served prison time after being charged in two hit-and-run auto wrecks that occurred on the same day 13 years ago. One of the wrecks happened on Austell Road, about three miles from the spot where A.J. Newman was killed Saturday. Cobb County police records show Jerry L. Guy rear-ended a car Feb. 17, 1997, on Austell Road at Pair Road. Guy drove away and later ran into another car on Smyrna-Powder Springs Road, injuring two people. Police said he fled on foot. He pleaded guilty to several charges and was sentenced in June 1998 to two years in prison and three years on probation. No one was killed in the 1997 wrecks.
16. IDs released of 2 killed when car crashed into Englewood pond
Two people who died after being pulled by firefighters from a car that plunged into a retention pond in Englewood have been identified. Bryon Thompson, 27, and Alyssa Cutting, 23, both of Denver, died Saturday, according to a media release from the Englewood Fire Department. The two were taken to Swedish Medical Center after their Subaru plunged into the water at high speed about 1:45 a.m. Saturday. When firefighters arrived, after Englewood dispatch received a 911 call about the accident, the car was submerged in the pond.
17. Man flees scene of wreck in Walker County; manhunt under way
A hit-and-run auto accident on U.S. 27 Monday morning left one driver seriously injured and police combing nearby woods for another driver who fled the scene. At 6:49 a.m., the Georgia State Patrol received a call that a Lexus with Hamilton County, Tenn., plates collided head-on with an Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera. The Lexus was traveling north in the southbound lanes of Hwy. 27, according to Master Trooper Bowman with Georgia State Patrol, the officer in charge on the scene. The driver of the Lexus left the vehicle and tried to pry off his own license plate before fleeing into the nearby woods. The vehicle is not believed to have been stolen, according to the State Patrol. Definitely a case for a litigation attorney.
18. Man still recovering after hit and run
In the early morning hours of June 15, James Gnatt, 72, was struck by a car and left, badly injured, in the middle of Hodgson Memorial Drive. According to an eye witness who stopped to help him, Gnatt’s left arm was mangled, and he had several broken ribs. In addition, he was losing blood rapidly and might not have survived if someone hadn’t stopped to help. Three weeks later, and the driver who hit Gnatt still has not been found. Instead, Gnatt is left with mounting medical bills, further procedures for his arm and months of rehab. Atlanta Metro Police are investigating the incident, and Crimestoppers says it’s offering a reward to anyone who can provide information leading to an arrest.
